Chirnogeni Wind Project

The Chirnogeni wind project is located between the municipalities of Chirnogeni and IndependenĊ£a, in the county of ConstanĊ£a, South-Eastern Romania. The project, which has completed construction, comprises 32 Nordex N90/2500 2.5 MW wind turbines for a total installed capacity of 80 MW. The wind farm, which started commercial operations in early 2014, attracted around EUR 90 million in debt financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Erste Group Bank, ING Bank and UniCredit Bank Austria.

EnerCap Power Fund I L.P. has acquired a 30 percent stake in the project, with the Marguerite Fund taking 50 percent. The project was developed by EP Global Energy, who have retained a 20 percent stake. EP Global Energy will also continue to be the project leader. Construction started in January 2013 and was formally taken over from the construction team in February 2014.
